Hearing protection
Block out the noise – let the speech through!
Loud sawing, falling pieces of metal, roaring machinery – these are just a few examples of the many work situations in which hearing can be damaged. To ensure that a safe residual noise level of between 70 and 80 decibels is maintained, workers should wear hearing protection. Earplugs or earmuffs ensure that loud noises are dampened whilst still allowing workers to communicate with one another. When worn correctly, hearing protection not only prevents the onset of irreversible noise-induced hearing loss and tinnitus in the long term, but also reduces stress, which, if left untreated, can lead to further health issues such as burnout or heart problems.
