Cotton made in Africa is an internationally recognised standard for sustainably produced cotton from Africa. CmiA supports African cotton farmers and their families and promotes environmentally friendly cotton cultivation. In doing so, CmiA relies on the activation of market forces, thereby making an important contribution to economic independence. HAKRO is part of a network of companies that purchase Cotton made in Africa (CmiA)-certified cotton and, through licence fees, support agricultural training, environmentally friendly farming practices and social projects.

TRUE COLOURS is a high-tech colour technology designed to ensure maximum colour accuracy and stability. It makes HAKRO textiles highly lightfast and wash-resistant. At the same time, specialised colour-fastness processes ensure that the colour shades are identical across all models in each collection. And because this applies equally to all production batches, you’ll always receive the exact same shade when you buy more – even years later.

FAIR WEAR FOUNDATION

HAKRO has been a member of the Fair Wear Foundation since 2021. As an internationally recognised multi-stakeholder initiative, the Fair Wear Foundation assesses working conditions in production facilities in accordance with its Code of Conduct. In an annual Brand Performance Check, HAKRO is assessed on the audits carried out and the associated measures taken to ensure social justice in production. The results of this assessment are published on fairwear.org. In addition, HAKRO reports annually on the progress made by its production partners.

CLIMATE-NEUTRAL PRODUCT

Since the start of 2022, HAKRO has been the first corporate wear supplier to offer a completely climate-neutral collection – from the hoods on its hoodies right down to the socks.
