The right safety footwear for heavy

In heavy industry, choosing the right safety footwear is crucial for the safety and comfort of staff. The classification under EN ISO 20345 defines specific protective features that should be precisely tailored to the actual hazards in the workplace, such as sharp objects, heavy falling objects or extreme temperatures. An inappropriate protection class can result in either safety risks or unnecessary fatigue.
As a general guideline, S3 and S3S are the standard for production, whilst S5 is suitable for damp or chemically contaminated areas. For the most demanding tasks requiring complete waterproofing and maximum penetration protection, classes S7 and S7S are used. Each of these protection classes is suitable for the metalworking industry, although the optimal choice depends on your specific working environment.
