S1 safety footwear – lightness meets protection

Key features of safety class S1

- Optimised slip resistance (SR): Excellent grip on smooth industrial floors (tested to the latest standards).
- Fuel resistance (FO): Resistant to oil and petrol (optional extra for workshops).

Puncture protection in S1P, S1PL and S1PS
If your workplace requires additional protection against sharp objects on the floor, but you do not need water-repellent materials, the extended S1 classes are the right choice. The suffix indicates the material of the midsole:
- S1P (steel): The classic steel puncture protection. Extremely robust against large nails and splinters.
- S1PL (textile – ‘Large’): Metal-free protection, tested with a 4.5 mm diameter test nail. It offers high flexibility and lightness whilst ensuring full safety.
- S1PS (textile – ‘Small’): The highest level of textile safety, tested with a thin 3.0 mm nail. It offers maximum resistance to very fine, sharp objects such as metal pins or splinters.
